Create a harmonious transition from indoor to outdoor space with the use of porcelain paving. Porcelain paving has a smooth flat surface finish, requires minimal maintenance and is suitable for use as internal or external porcelain paving tile.
Paul Gibbons Landscaping recently undertook a project to redesign a client’s back garden in Tytherington, Cheshire.
As you can see from the first picture the area was quite sparse with no lawn and very little growing in it except for weeds! It was also uneven with a sloping surface.
The first stage of this process was to reduce the level of the garden by about a meter in order to decrease the slope and level it out. This involved a large amount of earth being moved, about 100 tons of soil to be exact! There was also an existing patio area formed using some non-descript concrete slabs which were also removed. While labour intensive, Paul Gibbons Landscaping has the machinery including diggers and excavators to cope with moving hardcore.
Next, we built some surrounding walls to frame the garden and provide a border. We carefully matched the bricks to those used on the house. This produced continuity between house and garden. The walls were then topped with Indian stone coping. In addition Indian Stone was used to create a new patio area and pathway. Finally, turf was laid to create a beautiful, lush green lawn. The affect was stunning as you can see from the two photographs.
